Cancellation: June 14 Swim Relay

Aloha swimmers,

Due to a lack of officials & volunteers available (many off-island), and a the sanction from USA-S not being available (conflict with Hawaiian Swimming Invitational on Oahu), Mike Sherill and I've had to cancel the relay this year. :-(((

Next year we'll pick a better weekend ... but we will do it. The NEXT ocean swim on Maui will be Kapalua.

(Dave ... contact me for Kapalua to get it going.) There's other info in the email I sent to all of Hawaii Masters, too.

Swimming w/Friends is Fun ... Sharing lanes is more fun that you think!

Hi swimmers,

Some of you are swimming, some are not. This email is for both of you.
Those that have gotten out of the habit ... come back. You know you felt better when you swam ... with us ... muscles stretched out, pushed yourself with a workout beside friends (more than when you swim alone), you're really clean after workout. OK ... so you got a little tired, but you slept better (either at work :-))) or at night at home :-))) ) ... and you got used to it and you weren't tired, you just slept better, felt better.

Maui Coast Relays on June 14

Toni sent this one in:

The next Maui Ocean Race is a New One ... Maui Coast Relays June 14. It's being put on by Maui Dolphins benefiting 50/50 Maui Dolphins and Hawaiian Lifeguard Association (Ocean Safety/Jr. Lifeguards). More info at www.mauidolphins.org/events.htm. Aumakua Swim forms (Labor day) are also posted there.

Note: for those Unat & HiMa swimmers not on Maui, we can post info about your upcoming sanctioned events. (And will be posting on HMSA website soon.)

Kaanapali Klassic Results

Toni has passed along the Kaanapali Klassic results.

What a beautiful day. What a crystal clear calm swim (especially after the rainy mid-week! The current was with us ... although the wind came up at the end. Missed you if you weren't there, but a good turnout benefitting Lahaina Swim Club. Thanks as always to Maui Ocean Safety helping.
